Doctors Without Borders USA is part of the international independent medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières, (MSF). Médecins Sans Frontières translates to Doctors without Borders. The non-governmental organization (NGO) provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, disasters, epidemics or exclusion from healthcare in more than 70 countries. Rapid and effective response to humanitarian emergencies is at the core of its work. Doctors Without Borders was founded in 1971 in Paris, France. The US branch raises funds and awareness for MSF's global operations.
