As fighting escalates in the south and centre of Gaza, the toll on civilians is devastating, and the continued hostile operating environment make it near-impossible to deliver humanitarian food aid.

Heavy shelling reported in the so-called safe zone of Al-Mawasi in southern Gaza on Thursday came despite the ongoing push for a ceasefire and as UN health agency reported 32 deaths from malnutrition.

Adopted by a large majority with 14 votes in favour and Russia abstaining, the resolution also urges both parties to fully implement the terms of the proposal “without delay and without condition.”

The war has caused unprecedented devastation to the Palestinian labour market and the wider economy, according to new data and analysis by the ILO and the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

The IDF must cease all attacks on or in the vicinity of hospitals and must ensure their protected status is respected and that hospitals are able to receive essential medical equipment and medicine.

Lack of clean water and sanitation has increased acute watery diarrhea among under-fives, while other water-borne diseases such as Hepatitis are proliferating among those who cannot get clean water.
