Humanitarian Coalition

The Humanitarian Coalition is a group of Canadian humanitarian organizations that collaborate to respond to emergencies and disasters around the world. It is a joint initiative by several of Canada's leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to enhance the effectiveness of their humanitarian efforts.

The Humanitarian Coalition brings together major aid organizations to provide Canadians with a simple and effective way to help during international humanitarian disasters. Member agencies join forces to raise funds by mobilizing media, businesses and individual Canadians.

Report: World faces 53 percent shortfall in funding for hunger

Only 47 percent of hunger funding needs through the United Nations humanitarian system are met, leaving a hunger funding gap of 53%, according to the international non-governmental organization (NGO) Action Against Hunger. Released Wednesday, the 2023 Hunger Funding Gap report also found that countries experiencing the worst hunger crises received less hunger funding than countries with lower rates of hunger.

Action Against Hunger USA

Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian non-governmental organization (NGO) that is committed to ending world hunger. Action Against Hunger USA is the United States branch of the nonprofit organization. The NGO’s main goal is to take decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. Founded in 1979 by a group of French doctors, scientists, and writers as “Action Contre La Faim”, the charity aims to save malnourished children from starvation, establish access to safe drinking water and create sustainable solutions to hunger.

Action Against Hunger UK

Action Against Hunger is dedicated to eradicating hunger and providing access to clean water and healthcare. Its main goal is to take decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. The organization aims to save malnourished children from starvation, establish access to safe drinking water and create sustainable solutions to hunger. Action Against Hunger UK is the British branch of the nonprofit organization.

Action Against Hunger Canada

Action Against Hunger Canada is part of the international humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger / Action Contre La Faim. The non-governmental organization (NGO) is dedicated to eradicating hunger and providing access to clean water and healthcare. Its main goal is to take decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. Action Against Hunger is active in some 55 countries and reaches about 28 million with humanitarian support.

Myanmar Earthquake 2025

On March 28, 2025, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck Myanmar, causing widespread destruction and reducing homes, hospitals, schools, and vital infrastructure to rubble in areas inhabited by more than 17 million people. It was the strongest earthquake in Myanmar for over a century and one of the deadliest in recent history. The main quake was followed by a powerful magnitude 6.2 aftershock, which further compounded the devastation.
